Phil is very passionate about his work and he is able to explain complex aspects of the game in a way that is easy to understand. Thanks to Phil I’ve been able to drop my average score from 120 to 95 after just 10 lessons.
I had very little golfing experience before I went to Phil. Since taking lessons from him I actually play golf properly. I always have a great time and learn so much after each lesson and practice. Without Phil I would not be able to play golf this well. If you are thinking about playing golf, you have to take lessons from Phil.
After taking several lessons at the Back Nine Golf Academy I am hitting the ball 40 yards longer through the bag. My direction is very straight. I wish I had discovered the Back Nine 30 years ago.
Just want to say thank you. You may not remember, but you gave me a putting lesson last Wednesday. I made 5 birdies and shot 1 under on the back at Pinnacle. I haven’t made 5 birdies in my last 5 rounds. I made 4 putts outside of 20 feet. You are seriously a miracle worker. Thank you for what you do. Golf means so much to me. I’m still new to golf and have a swing I’m not very confident in, Philip is very good at identifying the many small things it takes to make a swing better and doesn’t make you feel insecure during the process. I would definitely point anyone looking for a teacher his way. Not only is he a great teacher, but he’s an even better person!
My first lesson with Philip went very well. He has a unique way of dissecting your golf swing that makes it super simple to understand how to improve. And, his golf simulation room is very high tech and awesome.
My Son has only taken one lesson so far and I’m impressed so far. Coach Walker gets to the business of fixing swing flaws and making my Son an overall better golfer.

I have been golfing for years and have had private lessons with golf pros across multiple states and I can honestly say not one comes close to Philip Walker. He was extremely professional, catered lessons to my learning style, and took a genuine interest in improving my game. I left each lesson with a clear focus of what to work on, slow motion videos of my swing before and after the lesson, and a couple drills to help. My handicap continues to drop to new all-time lows and I am getting complimented on how great my swing looks. A huge thank you to Philip for all the coaching! With his help I have never been more excited to hit the course and show people what I can do.
Philip Walker is the best coach you could ever ask for, he is very outgoing and knows what he is doing. I recommend sending future college golfers to him!

Awesome place, Philip Walker has reached his peak as a teaching PGA Professional. Sometimes it can be a tad humid leading to fatigue. Overall, great atmosphere for golfers hoping to improve their game.On a scale from Charles Barkley to Jack Nicklaus, I’d rate the place at least a Trevor Immelmann, maybe even pushing Chris Dimarco. After reconsidering, I am bumping up my review of Back Nine Golf Academy to a 5 Star Rating–the reason– a quick but useful adjustment of the room temperature.
The place is really becoming quite prestigious, almost pushing on the scale to about a Padraig Harrington level.
My recent knowledge of hatred for Jordan Spieth has elevated my rating to a 5 star. Air conditioner getting a touch better. Will review again in about a month.
Back Nine is responsible for every bit of my golf game. Philip is encouraging, witty, and extremely helpful. I was ALWAYS excited for golf lessons, my questions/concerns were always addressed, and when leaving, always felt great about my game. With his training, I was able to play four years of varsity golf and now have the opportunity to play at the collegiate level because of his efforts. I HIGHLY recommended the academy.
Fantastic results in just three lessons for a raw golfer! Highly recommend to anyone! Phillip is a great instructor. He was able to break down my swing and help me compete with friends! Hope to return in the future for further improvement!

Back Nine is great! Philip evaluated my abilities and started helping me improve. Super friendly, clean place. I highly recommend to any player at any level.
Outstanding facility. Philip is a very knowledgeable instructor able to analyze your swing and help you understand the necessary adjustments that need to be made. Doesn’t offer bandaid adjustments but rather mechanics in your swing to achieve desired results. At 75 years of age has helped me setup for proper shoulder turn and extension thru follow through. With all the simulator and video equipment he helps you engage in the visual learning I needed to improve my swing. Have not yet been able to carry to golf course after three 30 minute sessions as weather has restricted my on course play. Look forward to breaking 3 or 4 years of bad habits.
BACK NINE is a great place to improve your golf game. Wonderful coaches and great atmosphere. Phillip Walker is a legend. He will make your swing textbook!
